The term “social” stems from the Latin word socii, which means “allies.” No doubt you’ll gain a few of them when you patron the Social Lounge & Tapas, where craft cocktails, local brews and Mediterranean flavors mix and mingle in a lively, cosmopolitan environ. We offer an array of original craft cocktails blended from fine liquors and house-made elixirs, international wines, and an assortment of local beers on tap. Our tapas menu features cuisine from the Italian and Greek Islands, Southern Spain, and Northern Africa.
Located on Broadway Street in downtown Asheville, the Social Lounge is among the city’s most stylish cocktail bars. Rustic reclaimed wood elements meld with contemporary design to present an inviting and glamorous space. We offer bars on two floors, tables and lounge seating perfect for intimate groups, and a cozy rooftop terrace that holds a prime vantage point over downtown. We’re open every night until 2 a.m. (midnight in the winter), and are among the few restaurants in town that serve late night bites.
The Social Lounge & Tapas is owned by Chef Anthony Cerrato, who’s been a mainstay on the Asheville independent restaurant scene for nearly a decade. Chef Anthony ran his family’s business, Fiore’s Ristorante Toscano in Asheville, for eight years before opening the Social Lounge in April 2013. He also owns the adjoining restaurant, Strada Italiano, which serves authentic Italian fare representing all regions of Italy and many of Chef Anthony’s traditional family recipes. Both establishments are 3 Star Green Certified Restaurants. Recycling, composting, and utilizing green cleaning supplies and sustainable building materials are a few of the ways the restaurants adhere to an eco-friendly ideology.
